Squabble can notify you about guild activity and comment discoveries. This page covers what types of notifications you can enable or disable, and how to customize your experience.
Comment discovery notifications
When you reach a timestamp where a guildmate has left a comment, Squabble can alert you in three ways:
Reveal toast
A small card appears on the player showing which guildmate commented and a preview of their reaction. This is always available; you can toggle it on or off.
Haptic feedback
When a comment reveals, your phone vibrates. This pairs with the reveal toast to give tactile confirmation. Toggle this separately from the toast.
Background reveal notifications
If you're listening with the app closed (or in another tab), Squabble sends a system notification to your device when you cross a hidden comment. This lets you know something was waiting for you, even during background listening. Toggle this independently of the other two.
Open Settings
From the main tab bar, tap Settings.
Find Notifications
Scroll to the Notifications section.
Toggle comment discovery settings
You'll see three toggles: Comment Reveal Toast, Reveal Haptic Feedback, and Background Reveal Notifications. Turn any of them on or off.
Guild activity notifications
In the Notifications section, above the comment discovery toggles, you can enable or disable push notifications for specific guild events. Toggling any of these on means you'll receive a system notification when that event happens.
Activity types
- New Comments — A guildmate comments on a book your guild is reading
- Comment Replies — Someone replies to your comment
- New Topics — A guildmate starts a new Tavern Talk discussion on a quest
- Topic Replies — Someone replies in a topic you're following
- New Quests — A guild leader adds a book to the Quest Board
- Member Milestones — A guildmate completes a book or reaches a reread tier
- Guildmate Passed You — Another Adventurer surpasses your progress in a shared book
- Tavern Chat — New messages in the Tavern (guild-wide free-form chat)
In Notifications, find Guild Activity
The list of activity types appears first in the section, above the comment discovery toggles.
Toggle each activity on or off
Green means enabled, gray means you won't be notified for that event type.
