A Solo Quest lets you share your reading of a book that isn't on the Quest Board — a side quest you picked up on your own — with guildmates who happen to own the same book. It's how a private read becomes a soft "you should read this" without making it an official guild Quest.
What sharing does
By default, a book that's only in your personal library is invisible to your guild. Turn on its Solo Quest and two things change:
- Your guild's Activity feed shows milestones — you "embarked on a side quest" when you start and "completed a side quest" when you finish.
- Your timestamp comments on that book are saved to the guild, where guildmates who also own the book can discover them.
If you leave a Solo Quest off, the book stays completely private and your comments are just personal notes.
Turning on a Solo Quest
The toggle lives on the book's detail screen, below its guild status.
Open the book's details
From your library, tap the book to open its detail screen.
Find the Share with Guild toggle
Scroll to the Share with Guild toggle. It appears only when you're in a guild and the book isn't already on the Quest Board.
Share with your guild
Turn on Share with Guild. Sharing is off by default and set per book, so nothing goes out until you opt in.
The two-gate visibility rule
Comments on a Solo Quest book are protected by two gates. A guildmate has to clear both before they can see one of your comments:
- Gate 1 — Progress. Have they listened past the moment your comment is pinned to? This is the same spoiler gate that protects every timestamp comment.
- Gate 2 — Ownership. Do they actually own this book in their own library?
Turning sharing back off
You can stop sharing a Solo Quest at any time, and it's honest, reversible behavior:
- Comments you already shared stay visible to guildmates who own the book.
- New comments you write go back to being private notes.
Nothing is deleted, and you can turn sharing back on later to resume.
Promoting to a full Quest
A Solo Quest is a gentle recommendation, and the trail you leave behind is the whole pitch — there's no separate "recommend" button. If it lands, any guildmate can make the book an official guild Quest the usual way: tap + on the Quest Board and search for the title, or — for someone who owns the book themselves — open it in their own library and tap Post to the Quest Board.
