Guilds Overview

How guilds work in Squabble — your private reading group, its tabs, and what you can do together.

A Guild is your private reading party: up to 6 Adventurers who listen to audiobooks together and talk about them without spoiling anything. The guild is the social heart of Squabble — everything about reading with other people lives here.

What a guild is

A guild is a small, invite-only group. There are no public guilds and no discovery feed — you join one because a friend handed you a 6-character invite code. Every guild holds up to 6 members, and each member is called an Adventurer. You can belong to more than one guild at a time and switch between them.

To start or join one, see Creating or joining a guild.

The three tabs

Open the Guild tab and you land on one of three sub-tabs:

  • Activity — the guild's shared feed of comments, new topics, replies, and milestones, with emoji reactions. See the activity feed.
  • Quests — the Quest Board: the books your guild is reading, with completed quests tucked into their own collapsible list.
  • Adventurers — the member roster, with each Adventurer's role, avatar color, and earned Titles.

Your guild's Tavern — free-form chat with no spoiler gating — isn't a tab. Open it from The Tavern card at the top of the Quests tab. See Tavern chat and Topics.

What you do together

Once you have a guild, reading stops being a solo activity:

  • Take on Quests. Add a book to the Quest Board and everyone can read it on their own schedule, leaving breadcrumbs for those still catching up.
  • Track a whole series. Group a multi-book saga into a single Epic Quest.
  • Share personal reads. Turn on a Solo Quest to share your notes on a book that isn't on the board, with guildmates who own it too.
  • Talk without spoilers. Leave timestamp comments and start Topics that stay hidden until a guildmate reaches the same point.

Roles

Every guild has one owner (shown as Guild Master) — the Adventurer who created it — and the rest are members. The owner can pin a spotlight quest to the top of the board and manage the guild. Any Adventurer can add books, leave comments, start Topics, and invite new members up to the 6-person cap.
